If you're curious about where the anime fits on any of this, it takes place during the first half of the first God Eater arc with some differences here and there.
It mixes some of the unique mechanics from GER and GE2RB while also adding new ones. Last but not least we got God Eater 3 which is the last game that came out and is said that there's not going to have any DLC nor re-releases. Then they made God Eater Resurrection, which added a new arc for the first game, new mechanics to make it stand out since GE2RB had so many cool mechanics that couldn't be in GER for story reasons so they added what they could (which in my opinion was something really nice). Like God Eater Burst, it came with a whole new arc, new characters, difficulties, missions, etc and even more new mechanics.
GOD EATER RAGE BURST 2 ENDGAME PS4
It got a re-release for the PS Vita, PS4 and PC. Also grown up versions of the first game's cast. This game takes place years after the first one and features new characters and mechanics. Then God Eater 2 came out for the PSP and the PS Vita. The first God Eater got released for the PSP, and then it got a re-release called God Eater Burst also for the PSP with a whole new story arc, more missions, more difficulty levels, more characters and more weapons. To add some context to the re-releases of the first games, it went like this: So when you buy GE2RB you are actually getting 2 games. This is true for the PC version, I don't know about the PS4 one but I think it is the same. As far as I know, God Eater 2 Rage Burst comes bundled with God Eater Resurrection, which is the definitive version of the first game in the series.
